VIN checks are conducted on Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tiverton Police Headquarters, 20 Industrial Way, Tiverton RI, 02878.
The cost for a VIN check is $20.00. Cash, check, or money order only.
Effective January 1, 2024 ALL VEHICLES coming into Rhode Island from out of state, regardless of model year, require a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspection from a local municipal police department.
Please note that the title must be presented along with the vehicle at the time of the VIN check. If you own the vehicle, bring the original title. If there is a lien on the vehicle, bring a copy of the title.
